NEW RELEASE : Hunger

I am pleased to announce my new release with Amira Press : HUNGER

HUNGER picks up where book one, Crave, left off. In Hunger, Dr. Jackson Weiland is on the hunt for the panther that killed his mother.  It’s a search that uncovers more clues about his true identity as a panther shifter, and leads to more bloodshed.  As things continue to heat up between him and his soul mate, Zahara Nnembia, Jack can’t shake the feeling that the beautiful panther knows more about what’s happening than she’s letting on. Zahara is indeed withholding information from Jackson. She’s afraid that once Jackson learns of her roll, he will leave her. She goes to great lengths to hide her involvement in a rival pack’s quest to locate Jackson. But Zahara, in trying to correct her mistake, makes things worse.

Excerpt : …The humidity in the air seemed to rise as he climbed
onto the porch. He shifted into his human form. His muscles ached while his
bones snapped back into alignment. He waited for the pain to subside, then
climbed to his feet. Ignoring his clothes, which still lay where he left them, he
made his way inside.
Beads of sweat dripped from his hair and into his eyes as he made his
way to the master bedroom, then into the bathroom for a shower. He wasn’t
due to the hospital until later, but it was on his agenda to go to his father’s
house to retrieve the computer and all of the files in Tobias’s office. There
had to be something in there that would reveal who Jack was and why he was
a shifter.
Jack stood under the hot spray of water. He ran his hands over his
biceps, noting how his muscles had doubled in size. His abs were flatter,
sleeker. The mild-mannered college professor he once was, was now
unrecognizable in light of the changes to his body. That was fine with him.
He reached for the soap. Stopped. Inhaled deeply. Zahara. Her honeysuckle
scent seemed to coat his soul, rendering him motionless. Immediately, his
cock thickened and lengthened against his thigh.
When he turned, he could make out her outline on the other side of the
frosted glass. He opened the door to get a better view. Zahara Nnembia.
Panther. Daughter of Elon. Capturer of his heart. Jack studied her long,
black tresses that fell over her shoulders in silky waves. She had a petite but
athletic frame that was covered by a pink nightgown. Within the deep V
neckline, he could see the creamy texture of her chocolate skin and began to
salivate.
Zahara had his clothes in her hand, which she now tossed on the floor.
With deep-set hazel eyes, she gazed at him as if appraising his body from
head to toe. Jack’s heart thundered. Oh, how he loved this woman.
Controlling himself around her was never an option. He felt his hunger for
her rising to near panic levels and turned off the water.
“I thought you were going to go running with me,” Jack said.
“I wanted to give you some space.”
Jack nodded. He was disappointed, but he understood. “Right now, I just
need you. Come here.”

Sneak Peak : Crave by R.W. Shannon

I've been back underground trying to complete a couple of stories. Don't forget my last release, Bitten, is still available from Cobblestone Press. And, please vote for my Men of Rhodes series from Beautiful Trouble Publishing for best series.

Here is a sneak peak of what I'm working on. A shifter story called Crave. In Crave, Dr. Jackson Weiland is a leading expert on shape shifters after a chance encounter with a panther in his youth. Little does he know, he was about to become one.

Zahara Nnembia seeks the doctor's help in learning why her pack is being murdered for their bones. Once the secret is discovered, both of their world will be turned upside down.

Here's an excerpt:

Once breakfast was over, the investigation began and the group moved to an area of the compound that was set up like an exam room. Jack sat on a table. Elon started by withdrawing two vials of Jackson’s blood and sending them to a lab on the property to be tested. Jackson noticed the hue of his blood had changed. It was darker and thicker than normal. Elon also took Jack’s blood pressure and heart rates, which were also higher than normal. Jackson had a physical two months ago and knew what the base number should be.
Elon studied the data he’d written on his clipboard. “They’re online with that of a panther,” he said. “And they only gave you tea?”
“From what I can recall. They could’ve done something else to me while I was unconscious.”
Elon sat down his clipboard. He retrieved a penlight from his pocket and shined the light in Jackson’s eyes. Jack squinted at the light. When Elon leaned away and scribble notes, Jackson exhaled.
“I’ll need you to shift, Dr. Weiland.”
            “Okay.”
“If you’re up to it, I’d like to perform some agility tests. I have a course set up around the property. And you’re not invited,” Elon tossed over his shoulder.
Amin and Serge snickered. Jackson looked toward the doorway where Zahara stood.  Until now, Jack had tried to ignore Zahara’s presence to focus on this part of the examination, but now, when he looked at her, his heart beat wildly in his chest. She made a face and crossed her arms over her chest.
            “Why not?” Zahara asked.
“He’s going to be naked, for a start,” Serge said.
“So, I’ve been around naked men before,” she countered.
Jackson stiffened. The thought of her being with other naked men infuriated him. A growl escaped his mouth.  Elon looked up from his notes and sent a hard gaze toward Zahara.
“Sweetie, please stay inside,” Elon said.
“He’s right,” Jack said. “Who knows what I’ll do in animal form? You need to be safe.”
            “You won’t hurt me.”
Jack stared at her for a long time. He wanted to back up her claim that he wouldn’t, but even he wasn’t so sure. Zahara began to move toward him. Her mother caught her arm.
“Let’s let the boys have their fun,” Cyrah said. “We can go to the mall. Then, have lunch at that little bistro you like.”
Zahara looked annoyed but allowed her mother to lead her out of the room. Jack exhaled. This was hard for the both of them, but they had to hold on. Elon patted him on the shoulder.
“It’s obvious my daughter has deep feelings for you. And I’m not going to be able to keep you apart for long.”
            Jack smiled sheepishly. “Sir, I-.”
“Just be careful with her. That’s all I ask.”
Jack looked Elon in the eyes. “I’d rather die than hurt her.”
Elon nodded. “Let’s get back to the test.”
When Jackson returned to his suite hours later, he was exhausted. Every muscle burned. Not just from the shift, but from the rigorous pace Elon put him through. He had to admit that having the chance to run around the lush grounds with the sun beating down on his black fur was exhilarating. Elon had allowed Amin and Serge to run with him and for the first time in his life, he understood what it felt like to be a part of a pack.
He stripped off his clothing. Seconds later, his door flew open. Jackson turned to see Zahara standing there. His heart rate sped up. She entered the room and closed the door behind her. As she moved toward him, her gaze took in every inch of his nude body. Zahara seemed to have trouble breathing, but, so did he. Jack thought of putting his pants on, but changed his mind. He wanted her to see him. All of him.
“How did it go?” She asked.
“It was amazing,” he admitted. “Your father seemed pleased that I could hang with your brothers.”
Zahara wasn’t looking at him. Her eyes were transfixed on his cock. When she reached out to touch him, he knocked her hand away. Jackson wanted to hold her but he was covered in sweat. Still, he could feel her desire where he stood. His cock hardened at the thought of being inside of her. Zahara’s eyes immediately went to his lengthening muscle and gasped. Jackson shook his head.
“You’d better go before your father finds you in here,” he said.
            “I don’t care. I want you.”
“I want you, too. As you can see, but not like this. I think I’m finally on Elon’s good side.”
            Zahara sighed heavily. “But, Jack-.”
“Let me take a shower. Then, I have a surprise for you.”
Zahara looked into his eyes. “What?”
“You’ll see. Go change and I’ll meet you in the garden at six.”
She stood on her toes and pressed her lips against his. “Okay.”
Jack stepped away from her and walked to the bathroom. When he felt her gaze on his ass, he chuckled. If he wasn’t a gentleman, he would’ve already taken her. Now, he wished he wasn’t so nice. There was a loud bang on his door. Jackson stopped walking.
“Z,” Serge called. “Dad saw you go in there. If you’re not out of Jackson’s room in five seconds, I’m instructed to drag you out by your hair. Feel me?”
Zahara groaned. She looked to him for help. If she stayed any longer, she’d ruin the surprise he lined up for her. Jackson pointed at the door.
            “Go,” he commanded.
She exhaled sharply, then, stomped out of the room. Jack continued on. Once in the bathroom, Jack turned on the cold water and stepped under the icy drops. His dick ached, seeking the release that he refused to give it. Jackson sighed. He had to face the fact that he needed her. And tonight, all bets were off.

NEW RELEASE : Bitten

Check out my new release with Cobblestone Press!

Bitten - Queen Aurora is forced to execute her ex-husband Abel. When he vows revenge, Aurora doesn't take his threat seriously. That is, until she learns of a new turn in her territory, Mario.

After a drunken one night stand, Mario awakens in the morgue as a vampire. He is summoned to the Queen's castle to meet her. Immediately, the new vampire is taken with the Queen. With Mario’s impending death sentence on the horizon, she finds herself falling fast for the new turn. When Mario saves her life, what is Aurora willing to give up in return?

Excerpt : Aurora gripped the arms of her throne as the guard brought her ex-husband, Abel, into the room. Though his wrists and ankles were bound by shackles, he was still a dangerous man. The former vampire king’s handsomeness was also not lost on her. Golden eyes were set within a face covered by bronze skin as he gazed angrily at her. His mouth, one that she had once relished kissing, was surrounded by a thin mustache and beard and turned into a snarl. Drops of sweat sparkled within the strands of his curly, black hair and clung to his nude body. A bevy of emotions swirled within Aurora as Abel was forced to kneel in front of her.
Though her legs wobbled, she stood to address him, as was protocol. For so long, she had loved this man, and now she had to execute him. His crime was killing thousands of innocent humans in an attempt to take over the world. Who knew such a madman lurked within him? With her, Abel was gentle, but his ambition turned him into an evil, bitter vampire. Aurora pressed her lips together as she gathered her words. As queen of the vampire race, the crowd expected her to speak, but she lost her voice as soon as Abel walked into the room. He had that effect on her.
“Abel Abdul Shala,” Aurora spoke at last. “You’ve been convicted of crimes against human nature and sentenced to death. Do you have any last words?”
“How could you do this to me?”
A chorus of gasps rippled through the onlookers that crowded into the great room to witness his execution. Aurora flinched. She did nothing to Abel, except love him, and apparently that was a colossal mistake. Though she took the dual head axe from the guard, she just held it at her side. His facial expression was stoic, but his eyes were soft.
“I’ve done nothing to you,” she said softly.
“I thought you loved me.”
“I did, once.” She emphasized the past tense. “But, you’ve betrayed me. You’ve betrayed everything our race has worked towards—to live in concert with humans. I can’t overlook this.”
Abel spat on her words. “The humans are good for nothing but fresh blood. I thought you’d stand by me no matter what.”
“I can overlook a lot of things, but not this. I am queen.”
“I created you,” he snarled.
“Yes, you turned me, but I have orders from the demonic council. I must carry out this execution.”
“I love you, my queen. Don’t make me beg for my life.”
Aurora opened her mouth to reply, but closed it. What could she say to that? The expression on Abel’s face hardened. In a flash, she was reminded what an evil son of a bitch he was. Not only did he kill those humans, he tried to kill her. Twice. She gripped the handle of the axe so tight her knuckles ached. But, so did her heart.
“It’s too late,” she said.
“Then, I curse you,” Abel spat. “I will come back from the grave and kill you, Aurora.”
“Even you don’t have that kind of power.”
“Try me.”
A hush fell over the crowd. As vampire queen, she would not be disrespected by Abel. He had a history of doing that in public, too. Finally, after being by his side for more than a thousand years, Aurora was free of his reign of terror. She nodded for the guard to bend Abel forward so that the former king’s neck was exposed. Her fangs lengthened in anticipation of the strike.
“So be it,” Aurora said as she swung the axe and severed Abel’s head.

New release...Deadly Desires from Beautiful Trouble Publishing

Deadly Desires has been release from Beautiful Trouble Publishing.

Blurb:

Besides Macy’s annual shoe sale, the only other place Nici Browning would rather be is in the arms of her boyfriend. There were many things she loved about Steel including his sexy accent, killer smile, full lips, and crystal green eyes. What she didn’t love however was his job…and the secrets surrounding it. A lawyer, Steel travels constantly. It’s not the travel that concerns her, but the places to which he travels.

Steel Colston is doing everything in his power to keep his girlfriend from learning his true occupation. However, Nici already suspects something is amiss. Steel seeks advice from Hunter, his closest friend who just happens to be a fellow assassin. Before Steel can decide whether or not to reveal what he actually does for a living, the choice is taken away from him. Nici is kidnapped by someone who has a personal vendetta against him.

Steel is on a mission to save Nici at all costs. But, can he get to her before time runs out?

Excerpt:

Nici wondered why Steel took so much interest in the movie. After all, it was fiction. She studied his profile in the darkness. What didn’t she know about him? His body, she knew like the back of her hand, but she sensed there was more.

“We may have to skip dinner,” Steel said. “I’m expecting a call from Hunter.”

“Speaking of which, I want to meet him.”
Steel frowned. “Why?”
“He’s always calling you and dragging you off to God knows where. I want to be able to put your friend’s name with a face.”

“Okay.”
Nici’s eyes widened. She had expected him to put up more of a fight, as he did when her parents wanted to meet him. Steel released her hand and draped his arm around her shoulders. As the movie played on, she realized that she was falling in love with Steel. The only part of him she didn’t like was his career. She still struggled with why a criminal lawyer needed to travel all over the world, but she didn’t question him directly about it.

The former Irish rugby player was six foot four inches of solid muscle. In the flickering lights, she could make out his short brown hair. When he caught her looking at him, Steel wiggled his eyebrows at her.

“I know what you’re thinking,” he whispered, his green eyes sparkling in the dim light.

“Which is?”
“That we were at home. In bed. And my cock was deep inside you.”

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Because it was my release week, I totally forgot about this: (Bad, R.W.)

So here are my answers. I will debut the cover sometime next week. And I've included a sneak peak for my first indie release, My Soul to Claim.

In return, I had tagged Billy London, Janet Eckford, Naomi Jones, and Nevea Lane. Janet and Nevea have already completed theirs, if you haven't already done so, please go take a look at what they have in store for us. (I, for one, can't wait!)

Check it out!

What is the working title of your book? My Soul to Claim
Where did the idea come from for the book? My love of vampires, of course. And wanting to find a book that had a strong female lead and not finding one
What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal, interracial, vampire
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie? Zoe Kravitz and Michael Fassbender
What is a one sentence synopsis of your book? Genevieve’s ex husband Sabian asks for her help in finding his white whale before he retires from the bounty hunting game.
Will your book be self published or represented by an agency/publisher? Self Pub
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? It’s been in development for three years.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I don’t know if there are any. In terms of voice, I’d compare it to Shadowfae by Karen Marie Moning
Who or What inspired you to write this book? Basically, Genevieve started talking and wouldn’t shut up. I was in the middle of writing Nocturne when she made her debut
What else about your book might interest the reader? It’s hot. Because there aren’t a lot of interracial vampire stories, I know there are fans out there, because I get mail from them. I wanted to give them something they can sink their teeth into.

Excerpt of My Soul to Claim:

The evening finds me at my desk. A cup of warm blood in my hands. I sip it slowly. Savoring the metallic taste.  I check my email. Nothing but junk from Barney’s department store and some guy named Steve promising to send me a thousand dollars. The door that leads to the street swings open. I look up. Gasp. I am not surprised to see him standing in my door way. I am surprised that my heart still flutters. That my mouth goes dry. And why are my hand trembling.

"Genevieve," He says.

His hair is different. The blond curls fall to his shoulders.  His black overcoat fluttered in the slight movement as he walks his tall muscular frame down my basement steps. I inhale sharply. His earthy scent fills my nostrils. Snow litters the shoulder of his coat and the top of his head. After all this time, he still takes my breath away. I set down the mug before I drop it and rise to my feet.
                “Sabian.”
“I got your call. I take it you go mine.”
His low husky voice sent shivers down my spine. I almost stripped right there and then.  I move around the desk and find myself in his arms. I hug him quickly, but not before I felt the hardness of his chest against my cheek, then let him go and move across the room to stand by the bookcase were it was safe. A light stubble of hair coats his chin, giving him a rugged look. I inhale a shaky breath.
                “You look amazing,” he says.
I shrug. I curse that I had on my I-don’t-care outfit; a pink long sleeved t-shirt and white jogging pants with sneakers. My long black hair was pulled back into a ponytail. I had no makeup on. I feel his dark eyes linger on my cleavage beneath my v-neck. I wasn’t mad. I knew he was a breast man. At least he still found me attractive. Bella nips at his heels. He stoops to stroke her back as I move to the beverage warmer and offer him a mug. He takes it. The yellow mug dwarfed by his large tan hands.
“I hear you’re moving up. Assistant to the council president. Congrats.”
                He smiles. “Thanks.”
                “I’m impressed.”
After taking a sip, he sets the mug on the desk next to mine. “I always wanted to rule with you by my side.”
                I blush. “Sabian…”
I knew it was a lifelong dream of his to become a Master one day. It was one of the things we would talk about as we lay in bed until the late hours of the morning. He would be master and I, his first lady. We would settle into a lair somewhere on a tropical island and give up life on the road. I almost sigh. I miss those times more than anything. When we would just talk about everything and nothing.
He waves off his comment with the flick of his wrist. “Anyway, that’s not why I’m here.”
                “What’s going on?”
“You remember that entity I was tracking? The one that was collecting souls?”
I nod. Sabian talked about this Donovan nonstop while we were married. It was one of the things that drove me crazy about hi. He was obsessed with catching this monster and I can’t say that I blame him. This is the same vampire that had half eaten me to take my soul. He was also the reason Sabian had to turn me to keep me from dying.
“He’s resurfaced. Stronger than ever. I need your help to bring him down. One last score before I take office.”
                “Why me?”
“Because we work amazing as a pair. You’re the only one I trust with this.”
While I know he’s right, there isn’t anyone else that is crazy enough to go up against a monster like Donovan with him, I also know this man like the back of my hand. I spend over a decade with him and know when he’s hiding something from me.
“What aren’t you telling me?” I ask as I cross my arms over my chest.
                “You always knew me well.”
His smile is disarming. I raise my eyebrow.
                “And?”
“I found your soul.  If you chose, I can make you human.”

New Release : Chasing Dawn

Do you know what today is? That’s right, it’s release day.

Chasing Dawn is now available from Phaze Books!

Description: Dawn, the beautiful captain of the comic book superhero team, G-Force, comes to life one stormy night and finds herself locked inside a comic book shop in Alexandria, Virginia.
The superhero, who can manipulate the weather at will, was sculpted by the owner of the comic book shop, Chase. Chase, a handsome, ex-Army ranger who opened the shop after his tour in the Middle East ended, had always been in love with the superhero and sculpts her from clay.
When she comes to life, after he places a magical turquoise necklace around her neck, Chase offers his dream woman a place to stay with the hope that she'll never leave.
Can these two star-crossed lovers conquer the odds to fall in love in the real world?

EXCERPT:  Who could have tripped the silent alarm? The question haunted him. He had double-checked both the alarm and door before leaving.
Maybe it’s Dawn, he joked.
Reaching the shop, Chase inspected the front entrance and plate-glass window, but saw no obvious damage. He unlocked the door and pushed it open. A red light flashed on the security panel, indicating the back door was open. In case the burglar was still here, he grabbed a replica of Thor’s hammer. He turned off the alarm and tiptoed toward the back. Chase stopped short.
There was a gaping hole in the center of the room that housed Dawn. Chase raced over and peeked inside. She was gone. The hairs of his neck stood on edge. Reaching around the splintered wood, he turned on the light. The room was empty. Of course, she would blow a hole in the wall. It was a pocket door that opened with a hidden panel. But to see it in person… Man alive!
Panicking, he backed away, knocking over a box. What? How?
Chase’s heart pounded as he crept toward the back. At first, there was resistance on the knob; then it creaked opened. Dawn stood on the other side. Wind whipped her hair around her shoulders. Her breasts heaved beneath her leather jumpsuit. His gaze wandered to her erect nipples but he looked away. The toy hammer slipped from his hand. A while back, he and his buddies in the Dawn of the Day chat room had fantasized about what they’d do upon meeting Dawn in person. Chase had bragged he’d be cool as an ice cube, but he had lied. He was about to explode.
“Dawn?”
Suddenly, Chase was on fire. A current of electricity exited Dawn’s hands and entered him. Clutching his chest, Chase fell to his knees. Dawn vaulted over him toward the entrance. On reflex, he grabbed her ankle. She didn’t fall or stumble. Instead, she pivoted in midair and kicked him in his face. With a grunt, he released her and fell onto his back. Dawn’s boots clicked against the pavement as she rushed through the opening.
Cool.
Chase climbed to his feet and stumbled through the back door. He had to stop her. “Dawn. I don’t want to—”
A sucker punch knocked him on his back. He blacked out. When he came to, Dawn hovered over him like an angel. Chase gazed at her high cheekbones and full lips. Even in the darkness, he could make out her blue eyes. His heart fluttered. For years, he had fantasized about waking up to her face. He started to get up but was stopped by her foot on his chest. Gingerly, he lay back against the carpet.
“Identify yourself, villain,” she commanded.
“I’m not a villain. My name is Chase. Chase Donovan.”
“Chase? That’s an ordinary name for a villain.”
“I’m not a villain.”
Bending, she dug her heel into his chest. He flinched. Chase tried to disarm her with a smile, but judging by her stern look, she was unimpressed.
“What is your motive?” she asked.
“I don’t have one.”
Tilting her head, she studied him. What did she see? He hoped she would understand he wouldn’t hurt her. Dawn’s expression softened but she didn’t remove her foot from his chest.
“You say you have no motive,” she said. “Yet you are holding me captive.”
“What? No.”
“Why was I being imprisoned in that tiny room?”
“Until a few moments ago, you were a statue.”
Dawn raised an eyebrow. “Statue?”
Chase nodded. He saw wheels turning in her head, but Dawn clearly didn’t trust him. He couldn’t breathe. Not just because she was standing on his chest, but because she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on. She took her foot from his chest, picked him up by the collar and set him on his feet. Damn. Chase was a soldier but this woman could snap him like a twig. And that turned him on. He straightened his clothing. When he looked at her, Dawn’s hands were balled into fists. Her hands shimmered in sparks of white and blue electricity. Chase gulped.

Free Read .. The Domino Effect

I know I've been bad. Very, very bad about keeping up my blog. After working a full day, I'm usually drained and really don't want to be online updating anything. Also, because of my budget crunch, I've been without internet and a trek to the coffee house to use their wifi is out of the question.

I promise to update this area with new releases soon. Please accept my apology in the form of an xmas free read.

Also, my work is still available from Cobblestone Press, Beautiful Trouble Publishing and Phaze Books. I will have more coming out next year. Plus, a super secret project that I am working on and hope to release in the Spring.

In the meantime, enjoy!...

The Domino Effect

Chapter One
While her favorite holiday song played through the speakers of Kai Houston’s smart phone, she shimmied her hips to the beat.  At eight in the evening, the offices of the Rahm Law Group in Baltimore, Maryland were empty. Kai was stuck decorating the space for the upcoming Christmas holiday.
Kai brushed the strands of her short black hair from her eyes. In the silver bulb she held, she could see her coffee hued skin. Her ivory sweater was unbuttoned to reveal the black camisole and skirt she wore underneath. She paused to kick off her black pumps. Glancing around the office, she made sure that she was truly alone. For three years, Kai had been office manager at the law firm. And for those three years, she’d avoided working late. She didn’t want to take the chance of running in to the object of her fantasies, Domino Scarza.
The office had a new strict no dating policy. This was because of a love triangle gone wrong and both of those employees were fired. Kai needed this job and didn’t want to be on the chopping block. But, she had gotten vibes from Domino. The handsome lawyer had only worked for the firm for a year. Their banner had often crossed the line into the flirting category. It was only a matter of time, she thought, before she ended up butt naked on his desk. She quivered at the image.
           “Need help?”
Kai jumped at the sound of Domino’s velvety voice that seemed to materialize out of thin air. She glanced to her left. The lawyer leaned against the receptionist’s desk. Her heart stopped. Domino stood six foot three inched tall. His light gray eyes were set within pale skin.  Not a strand of his close cropped black hair was out of place. His white shirt was tucked into the waistband of his black pin-striped suit but his jacket was left open.  In his hand, he held his red tie. Kai’s body trembled. When she caught herself gazing at the area between his legs, she sucked in a breath and turned away.
          “No, thank you,” she whispered.
“I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said.
She smiled. Her heart still raced. “It’s ok.”
Kai studied the tree. To put the star on top, she’d have to climb on to the step ladder. Her legs wobbled the minute she laid eyes on Domino and she didn’t trust them to hold her weight. Still, she climbed the three metal rungs. She reached up toward the top branch. When her balance shifted, so did the step ladder. Two strong arms caught her before she fell into the tree. Domino smirked at her as he gingerly set her feet on the ground.
          “Thank you,” Kai said.
          “Anytime. Let me do that.”
Domino took the star from her hand. Effortlessly, he climbed the ladder and placed the star on top. Kai tore her vision from his firm gluts to view the sparkling tree topper.  It was tilted.
          “To the left,” she instructed.
He moved the decoration as she instructed. When she nodded her approval, he hooked the electrical cord into the strand and climbed down. Kai stomped on the large red button at the base. The tree lit up in multi-colored lights. Stepping back, she peered up at her handy work. Representing all of the holiday traditions, from Kwanzaa to Hanukah, on one tree was daunting, but she managed to do so and stay politically correct, per her boss’ orders. Moving to stand beside her, the heat from Domino’s body washed over hers.  Kai licked her lips.  To distract herself, Kai began to close the bins that held the decorations and clean up.
“Why are you here so late?” She asked him.
          “Senator Dugan’s case.”
“Oh.  I thought you punched long ago.”
Chuckling, Domino picked up two of the three bins. “Almost.”
The law office recently expanded into the other side of the twentieth floor of the high-rise building. Domino’s office was in the area. Kai hadn’t seen much of him since the move. A fact that disappointed her. She picked up the remaining bin, along with her phone and walked through the maze of cubicles to put the bins in the copy room. He followed.
“I’m glad I caught you alone,” he said as he sat the containers on top of hers. “Why have you been avoiding me?”
          Kai flinched. “I have not.”
Grasping her shoulders, Domino spun her around to look at her back side. She gasped. “What are you doing?”
“Checking to see if your pants are on fire.”
Clearly, she was lying. To him. To herself. But, what could she do? Kai stepped away from him. Domino closed the distance, backing her up against the copier.  Averting his intense gaze, she looked at the shelves over his shoulder. Even then, the side of his chiseled chin and five o’clock shadow was in her line of sight. She hoped that she would show some decorum, but she itched to rub her cheek against the rough stubble. Kai closed her eyes.
“I’ve missed seeing your beautiful face,” Domino said.
Kai opened her eyes and looked into his. His gaze was fiery. Her heart pounded against her chest. It was so loud, she was sure he could hear it. Reaching up to push him away, her hand connected with his solid chest.          She stopped. A shiver flowed down her spine from the contact. If just touching him fully clothed almost made her cum, what was she going to do if they-. No. She didn’t want to even imagine the possibility.
“You know the rules,” she whispered.
“Rules are meant to be broken.”
Resting his hands on either side of her, Domino leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers. The kiss scorched her mouth. Sucked all breath from her lungs, but she didn’t need to breathe. She needed him. Kai wrapped her arms around his waist. Pulling his frame against hers, she consumed his mouth as if they had all the time in the world. He broke the kiss. Panting, he leaned his forehead against.
“Do you want me to stop?” He asked.
Kai shook her head. Domino picked her up. She squealed as he sat her on the glass top of the copier. Reaching beneath her skirt, he grasped the waistband of her panties. He tugged them down her trembling thighs. A loud bang resonated from the outer office, followed by rushed voices. Motioning for her to stay put, he tiptoed to the door way and peeked out into cubicle area.
          “Cleaning crew,” he said.
Kai sighed in relief. Returning to her, Domino helped her off of the copier. He shoved both her pink panties and his tie into his pockets. With her phone still clutched in her fist, she straightened her skirt. Her legs wobbled as she walked to her desk to gather her purse and coat.
“Can I walk you to your car?” He asked.
          “Sure.”
Domino rested his hand on the small of her back while he guided her to the elevators. Kai’s body still tingled. If only the crew hadn’t shown up. When the elevator door parted, their boss and founder of the group, Henry Rahm, stood on the other side. He was an older man with wrinkled, beige skin and wire-rimmed glasses. Henry smiled at them.
“I’m glad to see some of my employees are burning the midnight oil,” Henry joked. “Actually, Dom, I’m glad you’re still here. I need to talk to you.”
Kai stiffened. Domino dropped his hand from her back.
“May I escort Ms. Houston to her car?” Domino said.
“Of course,” Henry said, patting Domino on his shoulder. “Swing by my office as soon as possible.”
When Henry left, the pair got on the elevator. As soon as the doors closed, Kai found herself in Domino’s arms. She let go of the breath that she’s been holding. His erection pressed in to her abdomen. It took everything in her not to stroke his bulge.
“You don’t have to do this,” Kai said. “I can get to my car alone.”
He shook his head. “I’m not ready to let you go.”
Standing on her toes, she touched her lips to his. “Neither am I.”
In the garage, Domino walked her to her car. He waited for Kai to unlock it and held the door open for her. Turning to look at him, she opened her mouth to speaks, but words failed her. She didn’t want to go home to her lonely townhouse in Lutherville.  With him, in his arms, and having him make love to her, was where she wanted to be. Leaning toward her, Domino kissed her quickly.
“I better head back,” he said. “You know how Rohm likes to talk.” Holding her hand, he brought Kai’s fingers to his lips and kissed them.  Wistfully, she sighed.
“Drive safely.” Domino said. He released her hand and ushered her into the car.
Kai put the key in the ignition. She started the car. With a heavy heart, and moist pussy, she drove home.

Chapter Two

This had to be the most boring holiday party in the history of holiday parties. Kai sipped egg nog from a paper cup. The only reason she was here was because she had to be here.  Budget constraints limited what she could do in the time frame she had. Holiday music streamed through a borrowed music player in the corner. The liquor was brought from the store on the corner. At least, she sprang for a cake. Betty brought her famous five layer dip. The co-workers of her law firm seemed to be having a good time. But, there wasn’t enough alcohol in the world to get her through another minute.
Yet, she couldn’t leave. The party should be winding down soon and she was a part of the cleanup crew. Setting her cup on top of her desk, she moved to the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the Baltimore skyline. Lights twinkled around the Harbor, illuminating the dark sky in hues of red and green. In the glass, she made out her reflection of mocha skin, short cropped hair and dark eyes. Her purple sweater dress clung to her curves.  Starring at the North Star, she made a wish.
Kai hadn’t seen Domino since that night in the copy room.  He hadn’t yet made an appearance at the party. But, she didn’t expect him too. A part of her was avoiding him. Her heart couldn’t take it if he suddenly decided that this job was more important than her.  Also, she was afraid that he was lying and just wanted to get into her pants for one night. Sighing, she rested her forehead against the cold glass. Maybe. Just once. Then, she’d know if what she was feeling was lust or something more.
“I hope you’re not plotting an escape.” Domino said.
Kai turned in the direction of his deep, baritone voice. His navy suit set-off the color of his eyes. The tie he wore featured a print of dancing reindeer. She laughed at his goofiness. Her heart fluttered. Turning away from him, she looked at the star and mouthed, “thank you.”
          “Busted,” Kai said aloud.
Domino chuckled. In one step, he closed the distance between them.  His solid chest pressed against her back. When she shivered, he wrapped his arms around her. It didn’t help. Having his body against hers only intensified the tremors in her limbs. Kai closed her eyes briefly. The way moisture dripped down her pussy and settled into the crotch of her panties, Kai knew she could no longer ignore him.
“I have your present,” he whispered against her ear.
Kai felt her nipples pucker. “I bet you do.”
His lips brushed against the back of her neck. Her knees buckled. He hooked his arm around her waist to keep her upright. But, she didn’t want to be upright. She wanted to be somewhere with him naked and horizontal. Opening her eyes, she stared out into the darkness. Should she go there again? Her body answered yes.  Turning around in his arms, Kai faced him. The intensity of his silver gaze flowed through her. She stepped back. Her back hit the cold window pane. Domino rested his hand on the glass above her head and pressed his body against hers.
          “What is it?” She asked.
          “Open it and find out.”
          “Open what?”
Domino motioned to his zipper.  Stiffening her shoulders, Kai looked around. No one was looking in their direction. With trembling fingers, she unzipped his fly and reached inside. She wrapped her hand around his hard cock. Her palm brushed against a silky strand of material.  Glancing up at him, she pulled his cock through the opening.  A green ribbon printed with candy canes was wrapped around his shaft.
“Merry Christmas,” He said pressing his lips against hers.
Kai quickly pulled away and glanced around the room. However, she didn’t release his erection.  “When do I get to unwrap it?”
          “How about now?”

Chapter Three

Kai’s mouth went dry. She stroked his solid cock. Only one answer resonated in her soul. Her hands shook.
          “Yes,” she replied.
Tucking his cock back into his pants, Domino took her hand and led her to his office. Kai trembled as she stepped into the spacious corner office. The furniture was silhouetted in the darkness by the bright lights of Baltimore’s harbor. This part of the building was quiets. However laugher intermittently seeped into the sanctuary. Domino closed and locked his door.
“Are you certain about this?” She asked.
His smile was wicked. “I’ve been sure. Are you having second thoughts?”
Kai gasped when he gathered her in his strong embrace. “No.”
Domino pressed his lips against hers. She ran her hands over his solid chests until she found the buttons of his jacket. Unfastening it, she shoved the halves of fabric apart. His kiss intensified against her lips as she tried to unbutton his shirt. The tie was in the way. Kai swiftly unknotted it and continued to uncover his chest. His pecs were hard and smooth. Sculpted from years of rowing and swimming in college, he told her once. She brushed her fingertips over his hard nipples and moaned. Moving her hand down, she unfastened his pants and pushed the material off his hips.
Releasing his lips, she concentrated on untying the ribbon. Kai tossed the decoration over her shoulder and sunk to her knees. Domino’s earthy scent filled her, ignited her pussy. She slid her mouth over the velvety tip of his cock.  His sweet taste coasted her tongue. She pulled more of his thick shaft into her mouth. The tip touched the back of her throat.
“Kai,” Domino sighed, gripping her shoulders.
Salty drops of his pre-cum dripped down her throat. Her intent was to finish him off with her mouth, but her throbbing clit wouldn’t let her. She let his cock fall from her lips. Kai climbed to her feet. In one swift motion, she pulled her dress over her head. Domino spun her around. He pushed aside the wet crotch her panties and bent her over the desk.
As soon as his thick shaft entered her, Kai arched her back to receive more of him. He felt just as she had imagined. The sides of his solid cock grazed the click walls of her pussy, while the tip pushed deep inside her. He pushed the straps of her bra down to free her full globes and cup them in his hands. Her nipples responded by stiffening against his fingertips.
“You feel so good,” she said with a sigh.
“I just wish I could fuck you the way you deserve.”
          “Next time?”
Kai glanced over her shoulder at him. Domino grinned.
          “Next time,” he confirmed.
Turning away, Kai gripped the edge of his desk. Domino gripped her hips. He plunged hard and deep inside of her. The desk shook under the force of his thrusts. As did her legs. Her climax was quick. Sudden. She bit her lip to stop herself from crying out. A moan escaped. No one should be in this part of the building, but she couldn’t be too careful. Domino’s lips brushed the skin on the back of her neck. With a grimace, he arched hard into her.
“I’m sorry,” he confessed as his tremors subsided. “I wanted to last longer, but your pussy is amazing.”
          Kai giggled. “Thank you.”
Domino’s cock slipped out of her. Kai moved to get dress, but he stopped her. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her against his chest. She shivered. Her body tingled with the desire for more of him. Closing her eyes, she inhaled. His embrace tightened. This was more. So much more. First thing Monday, she was looking for another job.
          “What happens now?” She asked.
“You shut down this party. You come home with me. I make love to you properly.”
Kai smiled. “Sounds like a plan.”
Domino was the best holiday gift she’s ever gotten. While she was still uncertain what was going to happen in the future, this was an excellent start.
